![]() ![]() are returned to the iPhone, but do not appear in the Camera Roll? So, when the process goes from importing through Photos to Sync the iPhone to the MacBook Air, the deleted photos/movies/etc. If I click the "Delete photos after Import" box, from where do the photos disappear - only from the iPhone? Photos starts up as soon as I connect the iPhone to the MacBook Air. When I sync my iPhone, I sync it to my MacBook Air with the same cable. Running up to-date software on both MBP and iPhone 13 Pro Max and I'm just a little stumped.ĭelete Imports After Import I know I'm making this more complicated than it has to be, but, I backup my photos from my iPhone onto my MacBook Air using a cable - yes, a cable - sorry. its almost like they are stuck and are affecting sync from the MPB but I can't get rid of them. for some reason I have 7500 photo in my "library" on my phone that can't be deleted, just no delete option when they are selected either individually or grouped, but when I look under the albums tab on iPhone I have nothing there. so doing my usual couple of monthly move photos from camera roll to certain albums on my MPB, I noticed that after it was all finished syncing I was missing about 3000 photos, Photo app on MPB has roughly 15000 photos and iPhone only had 12000, so though ok ill just delete all photos from phone and start again. I'm one of those that like to keep a back up on my MacBook Pro and organise my photos on my MBP instead of on my iPhone. Hopefully this is a really silly issue and easy to fix but I cast get my head around it. Iphoto sync issues from MacBook Pro + can't delete from phone Good Morning and thanks for any help in advance. Can anyone guess what's going on here? Is there a way to restore exactly ONE copy of each photo on "Photos" to my iPhone? How can I get back to reasonable synching (only new photos)? On my Mac, on the other hand, every photo continues to appear only once (I delete duplicates before synching, e.g. (But I even get duplicates for still-only photos). For the newer ones, if they are Life photos, the ones WITH the trash icon are stills, while the ones without are the life ones. Older photos (WITH or WITHOUT duplicates) seem to have NO trash icon ever. USUALLY if there are exact duplicates, one can be deleted and one cannot. Even more confusing, some of these photos show up with a trash icon (not that I am about to waste more hours of my time trying to hand-delete all 1000's of duplicates), but others only with the share icon. (No, they are not similar, they are IDENTICAL). ![]() Other than the waste of time (which didn't happen in the past), I also now end up with random duplicates of many (but not ALL photos) - recent ones (at least since August) are nearly all twice in Photos on my iPhone, but even many year old ones sometimes appear as doubles. Now, everytime I sync, the process takes FOREVER and it seems to re-download a huge number of my photos (if not all) to my iPhone every time. All of this worked exactly as expected until fairly recently (maybe the iOS upgrade to 13.x). ![]() For safety, I also checked "My Photo Stream" in the "Photos Settings" which should save 1 month worth of photos (especially before I can download them). This always meant that my camera roll would be empty, but every photo would exist exactly twice - on my phone and on my Mac, both in "Photos". Whenever I take pictures with my iPhone, I download them to "Photos" selecting "Delete after Import", then go to iTunes to sync my Mac with my phone (settings: "Sync Photos" checked, Copy photos from Photos, "All photos and albums" checked.) (BTW, I run 10.14.6 on my Mac). For many years, I had no trouble keeping exactly one copy of each photo in "Photos" on my Mac and one copy on my iPhone X.
